Brown Eyed

'17-year-old Levi Phan loves nothing more than sticking his nose in books,

listening to deep and aggressive rap music in any language, watching TV shows,

which he wouldn't even understand without subtitles and to be as invisible as possible at school.

In short, he leads the ordinary life of a teenager.

If only it weren't for this indescribable feeling in his stomach

which is only noticeable when his eyes meet Jayson Young.

That sudden tremor in his voice. That nervousness. The fear.

Why is he acting like he's never met anyone of the same sex?

A chance encounter unleashes the emotional turmoil of Levi's life; all of a sudden

the 17-year-old questions his complete sexuality.

And all because of a pair of brown eyes.'

'Brown Eyed' is a love story between two teenage boys, Levi Phan, and Jayson Young. As soon as their eyes crossed, not a second went by that the two didn't think about each other. The Levi and Jayson story took three full years to write, and I can't believe it will soon be available to everyone. Every time I think about it, I panic and stomach ache, but I also feel an insane joy.

While the story is intended for everyone, I hope to give the Black and East Asian communities in the first place a sweet little story where both communities are front and center, especially the LGBTQIA+ community.

'Brown Eyed' was a journey in which I learned much, although I thought I already knew so much. But you do learn something new every day. In those three years, so much has happened worldwide, partly influencing my writing process. I put incredible pressure on myself, didn't sleep many nights, and thought everything through five times, but I'm finally at a point where I'm proud and satisfied with my work.
